Former Cornwall player Phil Johns is the club's coach and works with the youth section. We have some promising youngsters coming through and are always looking to encourage more to come to Boconnoc and enjoy a positive start to their cricketing and sporting journey in a wonderful setting.
This season, the youth side has played games against nearby clubs in Roche and Duloe. Losing a couple of times to Roche in some tight affairs and beating Duloe.
Phil takes training regularly on a Tuesday evening at the ground during the season as well as indoor nets during the winter.
The plan for 2019 is to run both an Under 11s and Under 13s teams. Part of Phil's work has included going into a couple of local primary schools to spread the word about our wonderful sport.
As part of our commitment to safe, effective & child friendly youth cricket, Boconnoc Cricket Club has adopted the ECB's "Safe Hands - Welfare of Young People in Cricket" policy.
