v Gunnislake (A)

Seconds open with an abandonment

The 2nd XI made the opening day trip to Gunnislake, the last time the two sides met was in 2007 when Gunnislake had just joined the league and would quickly gain promotion out of Division 6. They were well contested games, with just Robert Hemmings being the only Boconnoc player who played in those games and this one, the interim skipper won the toss and decided to put runs on the board first.

Unfortuanely, Dave Smith would depart without scoring. Keith Sturgess (79no) and Hemmings (82) would put on the majority of the 191 runs that the side would post for the lost of 3 wickets at the end of their 40 overs.

Rain would sadly end the game in the Gunnislake reply. With the game interesting set up with the home side on 135 for 4 off 27 overs. Matt Grubb and Mike Rawbone taking 2 wickets a piece. The  2nd XI handed league debuts to Henry Langmaid and Nathan Moule.
